Struggling with your health? There's an easier & healthier way to find relief
Cosmetic acupuncture is a technique based on Chinese Medicine principles that treats imbalances of the body, from the inside out. We use tiny needles on the face, neck and decolletage which reach the dermis level; bringing oxygen and blood to the skin, stimulating circulation and telling the body to produce more collagen and elastin in those specific areas.
Cosmetic Acupuncture is a way to take care of your skin and overall health in a holistic way. By treating the internal causes of aging and placing needles in the dermis, we are reinvigorating the matrix of collagen and elastin that starts declining at age 30. service.
We will do an initial consult so I can learn about your specific condition, overall life-style and health. With this information, I will design a treatment plan to address the cosmetic concerns and also solve other body imbalances. For example; a person that has poor digestion and constipation will show early signs of aging and will usually present melasma – skin discoloration. Another example; a patient that has insomnia will reflect their lack of sleep and low energy around their eyes, with dark circles and sagging skin. This is why we want to address imbalances in the body and simultaneously treat the face and neck to stimulate collagen production.
Additionally, I will create a personalized anti-aging plan and make recommendations on food therapy, supplements and Chinese herbal medicine. I will also recommend skin care products for your skin type and teach you how to take care of yourself at home by gifting you a ‘skin care kit’ that you can use in the comfort of your home.
For many years I had heard about cosmetic acupuncture, but it was this fall when I decided to read about it and find out why and how it worked. I learned this therapy from Dr. Martha Lucas who holds a Ph.D. in Research Psychology as well as her certification and licensing to practice Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr. Martha has more than 20 years of teaching and speaking experience and she has done extensive clinical research on this topic; based on her clinical findings and her deep understanding of anatomy/physiology, she designed these cosmetic acupuncture protocols which give amazing results on a patient’s appearance and health.
This is your decision! Botox and fillers work immediately but they have long terms effects. They can damage the skin and create pockets that uneven the face and neck. Gentle cosmetic acupuncture stimulates your body to produce collagen and fill the face and neck to restore the original shape of the face. Some patients do not desire to have fillers, Botox or any other in injections and they choose to age naturally and allow their own bodies to do the work.

I am truly fascinated by cosmetic acupuncture as I feel it is a safe and healthy technique to maintain and get a more youthful appearance while correcting imbalances in the body. Personally, I would like to age as gracefully as I can using natural medicine and holistic procedures. Feel free to send me your questions at acuford@gmail.com
Sports Acupuncture is an integration of Traditional Chinese Medicine (acupuncture) with anatomy, western Orthopedics and Sports practices.
Whether you want to perform better at your chosen sport or need help recovering from an acute or chronic injury, acupuncture has been shown to increase performance and decrease recovery time.
Acupuncture can help sports injuries in several ways; preventing injuries, repairing muscles, recovering after surgical procedures and stimulating the body to perform its best before an athletic event.
How does this work? The needles used in acupuncture stimulate blood flow in the muscles and joints which speeds recovery time. It also relaxes injured tissue and decreases inflammation in the area.
By relieving both pain and inflammation, sports acupuncture can allow you to train harder and recover far more quickly both before and after an athletic event. Whether you’re a triathlete with a nagging injury, have experienced an acute injury and want to speed recovery, or just a normal person who wants to take the next step in exercise performance, acupuncture can play a significant role in that regard.
For example, evaluating shoulder pain begins with testing the strength and movement of your shoulder to determine its physical weaknesses, impingements and imbalances. Treatment may include needling, electro-stimulation, tuina massage, cupping or possibly Chinese herbs.
The most common conditions treated with Oriental Medicine are shoulder and neck pain, elbow pain, back pain, hip and knee pain, injuries of the lower extremities such as sciatica, achilles tendonitis, shin splints, ankle issues, plantar fasciitis.
These days, many professional sports teams have acupuncturists on staff to help their athletes recover in between games, specially during peak times of the season when athletes need to be performing their best at a game, recover quickly and then be ready for another game.
The best results are obtained when you use acupuncture and Oriental Medicine as preventative medicine; working on keeping muscles and joints healthy and also correcting internal imbalances of the body. so, be sure to showcase a premium service. Questions? Send me a message at acuford@gmail.com
The Mental/Emotional Aspect of Fertility
These days, there is plenty of research and knowledge about fertility. Unfortunately, people still usually think that infertility is a physical issue affecting female and male bodies.
When couples decide to seek help, suspecting they are having issues getting pregnant, the first things to address are physical exams, lab results and anatomical abnormalities. However, there is very little talk about the way infertility affects couples mentally and emotionally. Trying to conceive, and not being successful at that specific time, can create a lot of stress which becomes a vicious circle; not being pregnant creates physical and emotional stress which then stops the body from producing the right hormones needed to create a new life.
In my experience treating patients in Orlando, Florida, stress is one of the biggest causes of fertility problems; as patients start getting negative results, they start becoming discouraged and they allow negative emotions to build up. They also have pressure from family members asking when they will have a baby. It also becomes difficult to hear pregnancy news from friends.
I feel that fertility treatments should be followed by visiting a practitioner that can address your fertility problems as a whole; not only looking at the physical body but also addressing the emotional aspects. Many patients drop out of fertility treatments due to high stress and anxiety; this is an issue that modern medicine and society are slowly accepting.
Patients should be empowered to manage their individual situations - this would provide a more successful outcome for both the patient and their fertility doctors.
There are several ways to reduce stress and manage the mental aspects of fertility. Here are some ideas:
· Communicate your feelings with your partner, be open and true about it and ask what he/she feels about the current fertility situation.
· Exercise daily and push yourself to create sweat and increase circulation in the body; this will produce natural endorphins which act as “happy hormones” that help with feelings of anxiety and sadness. Exercise will also help you with a good night’s sleep.
· Do your research and gather a team of practitioners that can support you physically and emotionally on your fertility journey; make sure they care about you by spending enough time listening and addressing your concerns.
These three simple tips can make a big impact on your fertility journey. Everyone is different and has different needs; Catherine can create a personalized fertility plan, just for you.
